La Collection Benaud

Richie Benaud may have retired but his legend lives on. Born in Penrith, Australia, Richie was a Test cricket all-rounder, who helped Australia climb back to the top of the cricketing pile back in the late '50s.

This Aussie icon is famous the world over for his antics in the commentary box, and was well-known for his wardrobe full of less-than-colourful jackets; something suggested by Channel 9’s Kerry Packer to help him stand out from the crowd!

Packer’s suggestion must have stuck because Benaud is now one of the most well-known personalities in all cricket.

Grab yourself one of our La Colection Benaud shirts and celebrate the life and achievements of the man Gideon Haigh once described as "...perhaps the most influential cricketer and cricket personality since the Second World War."

One Cricket Player to Rule Them All!

Who is your all-time favourite cricket player?

From Bumble to Botham, the gentlemen's game has had no shortage of players that bring something special to the field. We've rattled our brains and delivered three cricketers we think are the best of all-time. So, read on, check out our pick and let us know how they stack up.

1) Sir Donald 'The Don' Bradman

Often cited as the greatest Test batsmen ever, Bradman's astronomical batting average of 99.4 is thought by many to be statistically the greatest achievement in sporting history. Over a career that spanned two decades, the Aussie legend consistently outplayed everyone else on the field, and narrowly missed out on an unprecedented 100% batting average by just 7 runs.

2) Gary Sobers

One of the game's greatest all-rounders, Sobers kicked off his career as a bowler but soon find himself climbing the batting order. Famously, Sobers netted his first maiden Test century against Pakistan in 1958 and in the process established a new record for the highest individual score in an innings - a feat that wasn't bettered until 1994 by Brian Lara.

3) Imran Khan

Pakistan's most decorated cricket captain, Khan led his side World Cup victory in 1992, putting the cap on an amazing 20-year career. With a staggering 3807 runs and 362 wickets in Test cricket under his belt, he is one of very cricketers to achieve the coveted 'All Rounder's Triple' in Test matches. To commemorate his contributions to the game, Khan was inducted into the ICC cricket Hall of Fame in 2010.

So, there you have it, PunkCricket's Top 3. Agree, disagree, or just want to tell us how great we are? Let us know below.
